Upon her arrival on Star City, she suddenly realized she had no idea how to locate her partner, even if she was here. The station was far larger than she'd imagined; it might take a very long time to locate anyone here! Well, she'd better get started.

Stopping the first friendly looking employee, she asked if there were a way to locate a particular person on the station, if they were staying there somewhere. Being assured there was, she headed to the nearest computer terminal to follow the simple search instructions. She input the search, and Magdenai's name, and got multiple results. First was the location of her room, and as she was about to close out the search, she noticed one of the others. It was a bonding record for a Synth on the Abstract Destiny.

"The Destiny? It's here?" she murmured to herself, remembering Maarla's stories. She wondered briefly about Magdenai bonding something, but was more interested in seeing the supposed place where she was born. She closed out the search thoughtfully, and headed to the room designated as Magdenai's.

She strode purposefully through the corridors, for all the world seeming that she knew exactly where she was going. As Brenthar trotted calmly by her side, sure his mistress knew what she was doing, Selien wondered at her confidence. She didn't remember being on Star City before, but she did seem to know where things were. Maybe she'd been here before, prior to Maarla.

Well, however she did it, it took very little time to find her friend's quarters. At the door, before she had a chance to knock, Brenthar sniffed at the door and whined lightly, signaling an unfamiliar scent. Patting his head, she told him to relax. "Hush, you. It's probably her new bond. You'll get to meet him soon." She wondered what sort of dragon her friend had bonded; you could only tell so much from pictures.

Knocking at the door, she hoped the other female hadn't forgotten her. She heard a muffled voice on the other side, and when the door opened on Magdenai, Selien called "Surprise!" in a light sing-song tone. "I finally made it!"

Magdenai, a huge grin on her face, opened the door to let her friends in, and as soon as they were inside, she hugged her friend. Selien hugged her back, thrilled to be done with traveling for a while, and even Brenthar broke his customary reserve long enough to jump up and demand a bit of attention. After the reunion, Magdenai turned to one of the side doors in the room.

"You can come out now, Omon. We're done being sappy." As the door opened, Magdenai spoke to Selien. "This is my bond, Omon. I was hoping you'd make it before his clutch hatched, but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Will Brenthar be okay with him? He's not very big yet, so he shouldn't seem threatening."

Selien kept a hand on the Tralvisk's shoulder, as the young dragon emerged carefully from the other room. She didn't want to take any chances, but was glad she'd taught him to accept beings she named as friends. When she saw Omon, she saw what Mag meant. The young Yautja stood tall on his two legs, and still his head rose barely inches above the Tralvisk's back. Brenthar cocked his head, not quite sure what to make of the newcomer, then looked back at Selien for instruction.

"Friend," she commanded, then continued in a normal tone, "Omon is a friend. He'll be with us as long as Magdenai, I'm sure." She smiled as she said the last part; if she could help it, she wouldn't accept anymore solo jobs. They were too much work and stress, not enough benefit. Brenthar relaxed as soon as she declared the small dragon a friend, and settled down on the floor near her feet.

The three spent the next few hours talking about the events of the past weeks, and getting to each other, in the case of Omon and Selien. Brenthar even spent a little time with the young dragon, playing a few games. By the time Selien headed to her room, Magdenai having planned ahead and gotten quarters with rooms for each of them, she was exhausted. She had forgotten how much traveling could wear a person out! And then, all the excitement of new friends, and catching up with an old one, she barely made it into bed before falling asleep.

Over the next couple months, Selien spent time with Magdenai and Omon, sometimes on the station, sometimes on other worlds. Mostly, they used the time as a bit of a vacation, while they waited until Omon was old enough to help them out in some of their jobs. That, and Selien was interested in standing as candidate on her own, but she wasn't drawn to the Synth immediately following Omon's group, or the one in the other bay at the time.

Shortly after Synth 19, another Synth went into the bay, and this one did catch her eye. The young firstborn seemed quite appealing, and she decided that she would sign herself up to stand. Magdenai, who'd hoped Selien would find a suitable clutch, somewhere, even if it wasn't at the Destiny, was thrilled that her friend had found one to her liking. Selien spent a few minutes at the Draconic Relations Ministry signing up; she wanted to make sure her forms were properly filled out. No point in being disqualified for a typo!

None of the friends could wait to see how the hatching turned out, but as there was still several weeks before the hatching would even be close to happening, they kept up their explorations of interesting worlds. Maybe by the time of the hatching, they would have found a permanent home.
