Luckily, Bydeniss did not have long to wait for his egg. By the end of the day, he was told his request was approved and he got to take his egg home. It should hatch within a day or two, he was informed. Jidka gave the xenocat the pouch she had carried her dragonets in, so he could carry the egg more easily.

By the next day, Bydeniss was anxiously awaiting the hatching of his egg. He would cock his head at every little sound, wondering if it was the egg, until finally late in the evening, the egg finally began to crack. Kaselanugo watched, interested as well; her chosen clutch would hatch soon, but she wondered if this terigon would hatch into something colorful.

When the small creature fully emerged from its egg, Kaselanugo was disappointed in its lack of bizarre coloration, but Bydeniss was thrilled when she gave him a mental image anyway. The small terigon was golden orange with a charcoal-colored mane and ruff fur, and brown wingfeathers tipped in yellow. The little male, whose name was Fonai, curled up with his new "owner" as soon as he had finished eating his first meal.

Over the next few days, as the little terigon ate and slept, he gradually began to stay awake longer, and started to play more with the xenocat. They would chase each other around the room they were currently staying in, only for a few minutes at a time, since the terigon would tire easily, at least at first. Sometimes Kaselanugo would join in, but she spent most of her time waiting near the hatching bay, convinced her egg would hatch at anytime.

Jidka watched all the play with a smile; she was glad to see Bydeniss come out of his shell, so to speak. He still wouldn't go near Dr. Schroeder, though, so when she went to investigate the clutch Kaselanugo signed her up for, she left the Xenocat and his little companion in their rooms. Now that the preview letter had been written, and she knew a little more about the Synth and its background, she was glad Kaselanugo had signed her up for it.

The little one that had been hatched already looked absolutely stunning, and she was looking forward to a chance to bond one the sweet looking hatchlings. She just hoped she had a good enough heart to be acceptable to one.

Apparently, Bydeniss was eavesdropping on his sponsor's thoughts, because she heard a comment in his distinct mindtone ::Of course, your heart is good enough! If yours isn't then no one's is!:: He sounded pretty adamant, and she laughed to herself. He definitely could be bold if he wanted to!

A few days later, the hatching of Synth 05 began. At the start, Sibori, the preview hatchling, gave a somewhat cryptic message: "If one of my brothers or sisters comes up to ya, make sure ya offer them yer hand, okay? They can't bond ya if ya don't!"

After that all the eggs hatched and older sibling went to each and whispered in its ear. They gathered into a group that seemed to mirror the candidates, and when she asked if everyone was ready, they all nodded. Sibori exclaimed, "Make your picks, then!", and all the hatchlings scattered, running to the candidate he or she had chosen.

When they were all in place and the candidates all had their hands outstretched, Sibori called out again. "Sorry in advance!", as lightning quick, the hatchlings bit the hands of their chosen bonds. They released immediately, apparently only needing the smallest amount of blood to form the blood-bond. Kaselanugo was not fazed in the slightest: she was thrilled by her new bond.

"You're so pretty!" she squealed, wrapping her arms around the hatchlings head, as she didn't have a neck to hug. The hatchling, Yusena Li'Multigenus, was hot pink nebula in color, and had neon green eyelights. While not as eye-burninngly bright as some of her favorite color combinations, Kaselanugo loved her, and Jidka, watching from the sideline, thought the colors were pretty bold.

Yusena giggled back. "And you can keep me!" She said, her voice half-muffled against Kase's gemmed chest.

From their spot in the audience, Jidka and Bydeniss waited for the new pair to finish their ceremony, watching as Kase found the most bizarrely colored bandage being given to the new bonders. When the newly bonded pair headed for the doors of the hatching bay, Jidka, Bydeniss, and little Fonai went to meet them.

"Jidka! This is Yusena, and I get to keep her! She said so!" Kaselanugo was practically bouncing up and down with her excitement.
